While at Priceline.com I was tasked with event conception and design. Our team would be given a budget and inspiration and the rest was up to us.
Our summer party was to be a celebration and inspiration. Business was good but the company was challenging us to exceed our annual goals. The concept was a celebratory white party at a shoreside venue with a suggested dress code of all white. To sell this we would need to deliver a truly inspiring visual and story. All our communications would feature the very trendy script style lettering with headlines that would allude to the success and forward vision. The result was a smashing success and a truly inspiring party.
Coming off the high from the summer event we jumped headlong into the holiday party planning. Could we top it?
The inspiration was to have a gala event, maybe formal, maybe old Hollywood. How can you get 550 people excited to attend a company holiday party in formal attire? The answer is to through a full on Great Gatsby style casino event. All party communiques spoke of glits and glamour, eludued to gambling and big bands, and the design was over the top art deco. Office posters hung in black and gold and encouraged the company to bring their A-game. Partygoers were handed envelopes of play money and game tables covered the floor while a big band played 20s era swing. Special drinks like Lime Rickies, Highballs, and Manhattans were mixed and game winnings could be donated to one of three local charities where Priceline would make a donation to the winning one.
